Our Commitment
At PuliKidz, part of Multiservizes Ltd, we prioritize the safety and well-being of the children in our care. With daily interactions, our team is trained to recognize and address any concerns related to a child’s welfare. All staff members undergo comprehensive safeguarding training to identify signs of abuse, neglect, or behavioral changes. We ensure that all sensitive information is handled with the utmost confidentiality.
We collaborate with external agencies to safeguard the children entrusted to us.
Understanding Child Abuse
All staff will be trained to recognize that child abuse can manifest in various forms, including:
- Physical Abuse: Any physical contact intended to cause intimidation or harm, such as hitting, slapping, pushing, or restraining.
- Sexual Abuse: Involves forcing unwanted sexual behavior on another person, including direct actions like sexual touching or coercing someone to view sexual content without consent.
- Emotional Abuse: Actions that cause mental or emotional harm, humiliation, or isolation, which may include verbal abuse or intimidation.
- Neglect: The failure to provide adequate care, including supervision, nourishment, and medical needs, affecting a child’s well-being.
- Domestic Abuse: Abuse within intimate or family relationships, which significantly impacts children who witness such behavior.
- Modern Slavery: This encompasses human trafficking and forced labor, where individuals are coerced into an abusive situation.
- Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (Fabricated or Induced Illness): A rare form of abuse where a caregiver exaggerates or causes health issues in a child.
- Bullying: Repeated aggressive behavior (verbal, physical, social, or psychological) towards a less powerful individual.
- Female Genital Mutilation (FGM): A non-medical procedure that alters female genitalia, classified as child abuse in the UK.
Staff will remain informed on child protection issues and relevant legislation, including the Prevent Duty, which aims to prevent children from being drawn into terrorism. Regular training and updates through resources from relevant agencies ensure staff are well-equipped to identify at-risk children.
Confidentiality and Reporting
Child protection concerns will always be treated confidentially and shared only on a need-to-know basis. Parents and guardians are encouraged to communicate any concerns regarding their child, including incidents or injuries, which will be documented appropriately.
We work closely with parents to ensure consistent care for their children and will collaborate with any existing agencies to meet their needs. The child’s protection and safety will always come first; if we suspect immediate harm, we will contact the police and maintain up-to-date documentation.
